28mm
Equipment category: ,

The 28mm f/2.8 Nikkor AIS was first introduced in 1981, but it can still be special ordered from Nikon today. This focal length is commonly considered the “standard” wide angle choice. It’s fantastic as a general-purpose wide-angle lens for manual focusing cameras.

Nikon let their designers go wild on this lens. Instead of a simple 5 element design, this lens has 8 elements in 8 groups. This allows it a level of correction seen in no other Nikon wide angle lens. No other Nikon 28mm performs quite as well as this one.

The popular 28mm f/2.8 Nikkor AIS Manual Focus Lens offers superior sharpness with quality construction throughout, in a compact package. It offers superb image quality and Nikon’s Close-Range-Correction (CRC) which maintains image quality throughout the focusing range down to its minimum focusing distance
